Jennifer’s mother and brother shot dead

Jennifer Hudson who appeared alongside Beyonce Knowles in ‘Dreamgirls’, and has just started her own solo singing career, is suffering from the tragic loss of her mother and brother since Friday. They were both found in the Chicago home shot dead. As well as this, she is also having to deal with the fact that her 7 year old nephew has gone missing.

“We can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation concerning the deaths of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson and her brother, Jason Hudson,” Hudson’s personal publicist, Lisa Kasterler, said in a statement.

“No further comment will be made and the family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.”

A police spokeswoman Monique Bond had said that the deaths appeared to be resulting from domestic abuse. However the post-mortems are still pending.

American police are currently talking to, “a number of people who are in custody,” but no more has been said on the matter.

Deputy Chief Joseph Patterson said a family member had entered the home around 3pm, and then found a woman shot on the living room floor. Officers then found a man shot in the bedroom, Mr Patterson said. There was no sign of forced entry.
