Free drinks for everyone… what’s the worst that could happen?

Back in March the people at Dr Pepper said that if Guns N’ Roses finally released their album Chinese Democracy in 2008, that they would give every American citizen a free can of Dr Pepper.

The album has been in production since 1993. Dr Pepper made the offer after several release dates for the rock band’s long-awaited album passed.

Well guess what? Guns N’ Roses album Chinese Democracy is to be released on 23rd November in the US and soon after in the UK.

So what did Dr Pepper have to say about this?
“We never thought this day would come. Now it’s here, all we can say is the Dr Pepper’s on us,”

So that’s that then, all Americans will be able to go online and print out a voucher entitling them to a free can of Dr Pepper. This can only be claimed during 24 hours.

The company said that in an “unprecedented show of solidarity with Axl”, all Americans would receive a free can, “except estranged guitarists Slash and Buckethead”.

The band’s frontman, Axl Rose, said at the time that he was “surprised and very happy” to have the firm’s support.

The company said the star’s “quest for perfection” was understandable, leading them to believe that Chinese Democracy would not hit the shops in 2008.

Luckily Dr Pepper is minging, so we doubt that many will be claimed anyway!
