BBC Children in Need might beat it’s own record!
Whether you stayed in to watch it, had it recording on Sky+ or plan to watch it online… You will not be disappointed. Some Fleckers watched it live last night, and it was a pretty big show. Despite the cheese, and terrible dancing/singing acts from The Bill, Eastenders and Coronation Street, it was a succesful television extravaganza.
It was hailed as “the greatest Children in Need” ever, it looks as the money made for the charity will outdo all shows beforehand (£37 million was the most money ever made). A total of £20,991,216 has been counted so far, after 7 hours of television was taken over by stars such as McFly, Take That – who made a single donation of £250,000, and Girls Aloud.
There was a Strictly Come Dancing dance-off where Tess Daly saw the other side of the dancefloor. Terry Wogan tried to compete with her but unimpressed judge Bruno Tonioli as he discribed the dance as, “a good performance for radio”.
Our favourites McFly started the show, singing the official single for this year’s event, Stay With Me and Do Ya. Other performances came from Sugababes, Leon Jackson, Stereophonics, Alesha Dixon, Razorlight, John Barrowman, Duffy, Il Divo, Jason Donovan and Russell Watson among others.
All in all, it was a fantastic show. Let’s hope they beat the record, and help kids all around the country. If you want to make a donation, then please head over to Children in Need.
However, we want to know where Harry is? Has Terry Wogan become the new member of McFly?!?
