Michael Jackson RIP 1958 – 2009
We are truely upset here at Flecking, we can’t believe it’s real. Michael Jackson passed away yesterday at around 10pm our time and 2pm LA time. He suffered a cardiac arrest at his home, and so was taken to the UCLA medical centre where an hour later, he was pronounced dead. Michael Jackson was only 50 years of age.
The body of the star was flown by helicopter from the hospital to the LA coroner’s office. There are unfortunately pictures of this circulating – especially in the papers.
Throughout the day, different stories have emerged, but perhaps the most terrifying is the one of his doctor who has dissapeared. Tmz.com have said that Jackson receives a daily injection of Demerol (like Morphine), but was apparently given “too much” yesterday.
This is such a sad day, and such a loss of a fantastic performer who was due to play many dates at London’s o2. All ticket holders are now being reimbursed.
Friends of MJ have also paid their tributes:
Ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley: “I am so very sad and confused with every emotion possible. I am heartbroken for his children, who I know were everything to him and for his family. This is such a massive loss on so many levels, words fail me.”
Justin Timberlake: “I can’t find the words right now to express how deeply saddened I am by Michael’s passing. We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only pop music, but of all music. He has been an inspiration to multiple generations, and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him on stage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.”
Sir Paul McCartney: “It’s so sad and shocking. I feel privileged to have hung out and worked with Michael. He was a massively talented…with a gentle soul. His music will be remembered forever and my memories of our time together will be happy ones. I send my deepest sympathy to his mother and the whole family and to his countless fans all around the world.”
Madonna: “I can’t stop crying over the sad news. I’ve always admired Michael Jackson – the world has lost one of its greats but his music will live on forever.”
Britney Spears: “I was so excited to see his show in London. We were going to be on tour in Europe at the same time and I was going to fly in to see him. He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life and I’m devastated he’s gone!”
Whitney Houston: “I am full of grief.”
Max Clifford, speaking to Sky News Online: “I spoke to him three or four months ago, as he wanted Jade Goody to come to one of the London concerts. Now, the irony is that both of them are dead. Phoning Jade meant so much to her.”
The tributes go on and on. This has affected everyone. Our thoughts and love go out to his family who must be going through so much right now.
This is how we’d like to remember him…
