Kerrang! 09 Album Review
I spent my teenage years listening to Kerrang! Albums, so I always get excited when a new one comes out.
Kerrang! 09 promises to be a who’s who of rock, punk and metal for 2009, ready to show the compilation world of Dance and R&B; exactly what an album should sound like! Well it certainly does that.
The 2 CDs boast 42 songs and surprisingly there aren’t that many ‘filler tracks’ – something you usually expect with a compilation CD. There’s the old favourite bands and the hot new talent.
I prefer the pop punky tracks to the heavier ones – which ever you prefer, you won’t be disappointed.
If like me you prefer the pop punky tracks then CD1 is the CD for you with the likes of Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, The All-American Rejects, New Found Glory, Cobra Starship and Metro Station.
If you like your music on the heavier side then go straight to CD2 with tracks from Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Gallows and Marilyn Manson and more.
With a couple of exceptions there aren’t that many tracks on CD2 that I personally like but in true Kerrang! style there really is something for everyone – there are more than enough tracks on CD1 that I love to make this CD well worth the money.
If that’s not enough for you, the album also includes exclusive tracks from established acts such as My Chemical Romance, New Found Glory, Alexisonfire, Marilyn Manson, Gallows and a showcasing of the new breed with the likes of Ghost Of A Thousand, Outcry Collective and Rolo Tomassi.
Kerrang! The Album ’09 really is the biggest, and the best compilation to rock out to so far this year!
