Busted ‘masterpieces’ on Radio 1 today!
In an act of pure comedy and utter genius, Scott Mills managed to get through 5 (ish) Busted songs off of their first album, before it got pulled off air. We think it’s so funny, and it’s gone down very well with everyone!
Before the takeover, Scott Mills decided to take quotes from people like Korn, Biffy Clyro and Black Sabbath. In these quotes they were saying how this band were amazing, and an inspiration to them as artists! Not only did Scott Mills take the piss a little, but he did it in such a heart-warming and loving way that we were assured he loves the album as much as we do!
He played ‘What I Go To School For’, ‘You Said No’ and ‘Britney’ before Zane Lowe tried to get in. Scott then continued with ‘Year 3000’ and Zane told him that once it’s interruped, “it’s done”. However this didn’t stop him, and it was only when ‘Year 3000’ stopped, that Scott told everyone that he was in trouble. Although others were up for continuing the show within the studio, Scott stated that he “wasn’t up for getting sacked”. To which his collegue replied, “They can’t sack you for playing too much Busted!”. Too right they can’t Mills.
After this there were suggestions that if he did get sacked, he could take it to a tribunal… then another boss came down! They continued with ‘Sleeping With The Light On’, until it faded out and Zane Lowe’s advert for him playing his ‘masterpieces’ took over. A few tracks later and, Scott got taken away for a meeting with some “angry, angry people”. All the comments that were made after this was very controversial, and we’re not sure what’s going to happen to these DJ’s!
Scott eventually returns a while later but doesn’t really mention what had happened. Oops! However he didn’t seem in the best of moods. Well we thought it was funny anyway…
Matt also showed his appreciation for all of this by Twittering, “4 BUSTED songs back 2 back on radio 1!!! WICKED!!!!!”
If you missed the show, we suggest you go and have a listen over at Scott Mills’ page…. NOW.
