Rage Against The Machine are Christmas Number One
Congratulations Rage Against The Machine! Killing In The Name bagged the Christmas number one spot.
Since the begin of X Factor time (excluding Steve Brookstein who lost out to Band Aid 20 – a deserving cause, but did reach the number one spot after Christmas) the X Factor winner’s song has always been the Christmas number one. We feel a bit sorry for Joe McElderry that he’s been robbed of the Christmas number one (up until the RATM campaign, we were all expecting the X Factor winner to be number one) – but the Christmas number two spot is still pretty good, so congratulations to Joe too.
It’s been great to have a battle for the Christmas number one spot. Not since The Darkness and Gary Jules battled it out for the top spot have we been so excited about listening to the Christmas chart.
We’re sure Joe will be fine. Congratulations RATM.
