Channing Tatum lands junkie role
Channing Tatum is set to play a junkie in ‘What’s Left of Us.’
The film – to be adapted by Richie Farrell from his novel ‘High on Crack Street’ – is based on the true story of a heroin addict’s difficult seven days detox from the addictive drug.
As well as writing the original book, Farrell will also be adapting it for the screenplay, although no director or producer has been confirmed.
Hollywood hunk Channing recently signed up to Ron Howard’s latest comedy ‘Cheaters’, alongside Winona Ryder, Jennifer Connelly, Vince Vaughn and Queen Latifah.
The 30-year-old star will play Winona’s tattooed lover in the film which is set for an early 2011 release.
His most recent role in romantic drama ‘Dear John’ with Amanda Seyfried hit number one in the US box office in February, bringing to an end the dominance of ‘Avatar’ which had been on the top spot for seven consecutive weeks.
Production and release dates for ‘What’s Left of Us’ have yet to be announced.
