Eoghan Quigg’s 28,000 Friends
Eoghan Quigg’s track 28,000 Friends is one of MSNs ‘LOL! Songs about the internet’.
MSN have compiled a list of songs about the internet, the first of which is X Factor contestant Eoghan’s debut single 28,000 Friends.
Boasting lyrics such as “You and your 28,000 friends – Youtube, Facebook, Myspace, IM”, the song is a tribute to social networks.
The site writes “One suspects the title of the song was wishful thinking on his part as the single managed to reach the lofty heights of 96 in the official UK charts. That’s really not many friends at all…”
Well we know better though, don’t we? MySpace-wise Eoghan actually has 653 friends, but that fits right?
“You and your six-hundred-and-fifty-three friends”
The 28,000 friends in question actually belonged to James Bourne, who wrote the song.
Other tracks on the list include Instant Messenger by Muse and Email My Heart by Britney Spears.
