Gabriella Cilmi happy with album
Gabriella Cilmi isn’t worried about chart positions.
The ‘Hearts Don’t Lie’ singer – whose second LP ‘Ten’ only reached number 28 in the UK chart on its release – claims sales and downloads do not upset her and still believes there is life in her album yet.
She said: “I try not to get too caught up in that business, but I don’t think the album’s life is over yet. I’ve got lots of live performances booked in which definitely keeps me going. I feel positive that there is plenty more to come!”
The 18-year-old pop star also admits her third album could have a very different sound to the sci-fi inspired ‘Ten’.
She told website Digital Spy: “I think I’ll do something different next time – a country album is a possibility because I’m a massive Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash fan. I’m wearing all black today actually because Cash once said: ‘You never know when you’re going to your funeral!’ I’m also a massive Enya fan, so a collaboration with her would be fun as well.”
Gabriella recently confessed she would like to take Leona Lewis on an Australian-themed night out when she supports her on her debut UK tour.
She told BANG Showbiz: “I could take her out on an Aussie night out and have a good party. I just like going out and having a good boogey. It would be fun! As long as you’ve got company, we’d have a great night.”
