Jake Gyllenhaal no stuntman
Jake Gyllenhaal did as many stunts as he could in ‘Prince of Persia: Sands of Time’.
The 29-year-old leading man, who portrays titular Prince Dastan in the computer game movie adaptation, jokes he did as much parkour – the talent of overcoming any obstacle in your path – as possible, but in reality could only do a few stunts.
He told BANG Showbiz: “I did as much of it as I could. There were a few pieces which I couldn’t which were really, far, far between. All the biggest and best stunts in the movie were done by me. And the most dangerous ones as well.
“I have been studying parkour since I was a young child. It’s the perfect role for me because I’ve always wanted to play a prince. Some people may say I am in many ways a princess so playing a prince was fitting.
“No, in reality the majority of the parkour was done by the acrobats. But I did the fundamentals and the landings. Which are the hardest part! On your knees and on other parts of your body.”
‘Prince of Persia: Sands of Time’ is released on May 28.
