Katy Perry to perform at MTV Movie Awards

Katy Perry will be performing her new single ‘California Gurls’ at this years MTV Movie Awards.

Last time Katy, who is now engaged to Russell Brand, performed for an MTV awards ceremony she sung a cover of Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’ in September 2009 and has been renowned for her ‘cute’ on-stage attitude and outfits.

Christina Aguilera will join Katy Perry on the line up for this years performances, according to MTV News.

On performing at the awards, Katy said;

“I’m proud to represent the West Coast at the MTV Movie Awards in the magical glow of the Hollywood sign with my new single ‘California Gurls’. I hope it will be the theme song to a lot of summer loving; I know it will in my house,”

The awards will air on June 6th.
