Simon Cowell to help JLS make it big in USA
Simon Cowell wants to help JLS crack America.
The music mogul was visited by the British boy band on the ‘American Idol’ set – where Simon is filming his last series as a judge on the show – and was full of praise for the foursome as he introduced them to host Ryan Seacrest.
Speaking about JLS, the 50-year-old star said: “They’re hard working, they respect their fans, and they’re super, super talented. They’ve sold about two million records and I think they might break in America.”
JLS were the runners up on Simon’s 2008 ‘X Factor’ show – the pop star search programme he is launching in America next year – and have since scored two number one hits in the UK singles chart and a UK number one album.
The ‘X Factor’ also gave the world Leona Lewis, who won the series in 2006 and went on to become a huge international star.
Groups on the show have traditionally not done as well as solo acts, but Simon believes JLS can match Leona’s phenomenal success.
He said: “JLS are the only group we’ve ever had on the show who had what it takes.”
