Hugh Laurie to record an album
‘House’ star Hugh Laurie is set to record a New Orleans blues album this summer.
The exciting bit being that it will be recorded with a variety of guest starts.
The Golden Globe-winning actor, who recently received his fifth Emmy nomination, said he was “drunk with excitement” at signing the record deal with Warner.
“I know the history of actors making music is a chequered one, but I promise no one will get hurt,” the 51-year-old, self-taught musician said.
Hugh does have reason to believe he can make a success of his new career turn, however.
He is often seen playing guitar and piano on House and has sung and performed throughout his career.
He will team up with producer Joe Henry, who has previously worked with artists such as Elvis Costello and Loudon Wainwright III.
