Aiden Grimshaw doesn’t follow Adam Lambert’s lead

We had high hopes for X Factor contestant Aiden Grimshaw – sadly he was voted off the show last night.

During the first live show of the series, Aiden gave an excellent performance of Mad World, and Simon Cowell even likened it to Adam Lambert’s performance on American Idol.

After Aiden’s performance, Simon said: “Interestingly, this is the second time I’ve sat on one of these shows and been blown away by that song. It happened once in America and it’s just happened again tonight.”

Sadly, Aiden won’t be going on to recreate Adam’s success as runner-up.

He lost out Katie Waissel, who was also in the bottom two, but was kept in the show by Dead Lock – when the judges cannot agree who to send home and it goes to the public vote.

What a shame! We really liked Aiden.
