Someone threw banana skin at Katie Waissel

X Factor contestant Katie Waissel has told how someone threw a banana skin at her.

The 24-year-old was out in Covent Garden for rehearsals at the time and was shouted abuse at.

“Even though it was only a banana skin, it was still horrible,” said Katie.

“I was grateful it wasn’t a fire extinguisher.”

According to Now, Katie says that the hate campaign against her puts her off leaving the X Factor house.

“I’m scared when I go out,” she added. “I don’t know what the reaction to me is going to be.”

“At the end of the day I am a 24-year-old girl and to be booed publicy for, well, I don’t know what for, it hurts. It really hurts.”
