Matt LeBlanc didn’t find Joey as fun as Friends

Matt LeBlanc didn’t find his character as fun in the Friends spin-off.

We were all gutted when Friends ended, so the idea of Joey – a spin-off show starring Matt – helped us get through it that little bit easier.

However, Matt wasn’t entirely happy with the changes they made to his character Joey Tribbiani.

“I thought we had a good cast and it was really fun,” he said. “In my opinion, what ended up happening was he was a little bit more of an emasculated version of the Joey that was on Friends.”

“He was a little more down. Joey was always the glass is half full, no matter what the situation is, kind of guy. He was never really depressed. I think the show kind of got away from that and it became less fun.”
