Tommy Joe Ratliff talks NOH8
Tommy Joe Ratliff has spoken about getting involved with NOH8.
Tommy posed for the NOH8 Campaign, a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8.
“Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with “NOH8″ painted on one cheek in protest.” the site explains.
Speaking about getting involved, Tommy said in an interview: “I’ve always supported and wanted to do a photo someday.”
“Oddly enough, Jeff and Adam [Bouska] sent me DM on twitter asking to do a shoot and I was very excited to do it. I’m amazed with how it turned out and I was floored by the reaction.” said Tommy, who plays bass for Adam Lambert.
“I’m so glad everyone liked it. I’ve kept in contact with them and plan on doing more stuff together. They’re super sweet dudes and I have a lot of respect for what they’re doing and will do whatever I can to help out.”
Celebrities also backing the campaign include Kim Kardashian and her sisters, Ashelee Simpson, Aaron Carter, Glee’s Jane Lynch, Weird Al Yankovic, Slash, Kat Von D, Verne Troyer, Paris Hilton – and more.
