Dougie Poynter jokes about moving on from Frankie Sandford days before being driven to rehab

Dougie Poynter was joking around about moving on from ex girlfriend Frankie Sandford just days before heading to rehab.

“I think I’ve found my wife,” 23-year-old Dougie said, according to Now.

“I don’t know her name yet, though.” he said of the violinist.

However, it did sound like his confidence had taken a bit of a knock.

“When people say “be yourself”, it freaks me out,” Dougie said.

“When I’m naked I look like a Scotch egg with 4 toothpicks coming out and a pea stuck on top.”

The News of the World are reporting that it’s his split from The Saturdays singer Frankie that had driven him to rehab.

“Losing Frankie left him really low. Dougie believed she’d be the girl he’d end up married to. He needs some time out to have a rest and get his head together.” a source said.

Frankie started dating footie player Wayne Bridge not long after her split from the McFly bassist.

“Seeing her with someone else so quickly came as another huge blow.” the source added.

Speaking about the split in a recent interview, Dougie said, “It’s c**p, but what makes it worse is getting constant reminders. When it’s a regular person it’s bad enough because you hear their name once in a while, or your mutual friends see them. But I see her bloody everywhere! In magazines, on the TV, on the radio. It’s horrible!”

“Seeing her arm in arm with a footballer is amazing. I just love that, it’s ace.” he said sarcastically.
