Wheatus chart at number 35 with Teenage Dirtbag
Flecking favourites Wheatus have officially re-entered the UK singles chart with their hit Teenage Dirtbag.
Over ten years after peaking at number two in the top 40 Wheatus are back, this time charting at number 35. Congratulations guys, you deserve it!
The teen anthem has been covered by the likes of Weezer, All Time Low and Dashboard Confessional. Even big pop names like Popstars The Rivals winners Girls Aloud and Irish boyband Westlife have had a crack at performing the song on tour.
In a recent interview, front-man Brendan Brown told Flecking Records about his favourite covers of the track. “The Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain and The SCALA covers are both pretty damn impressive.”
“Such an honor to have had that happen, to be included in that repertoire, very, very cool.” he added.
But what does he think of the slightly reworked Girls Aloud take on his hit?
“Liked it but they should have kept my pronouns… HA!” he said.
