Has Cheryl Cole been axed from US X Factor?

Rumours are circulating that Cheryl Cole has been axed from the US version of the X Factor.

TMZ are reporting that Cheryl will no longer be a judge and will apparently be replaced by ex-“Pussycat Dolls” member Nicole Scherzinger.

Sources close to the show told TMZ that Cheryl’s Geordie accent was an issue for US audiences, and that there was a “lack of chemistry” between her and Paula Abdul.

If it’s true it sucks for Cheryl, who packed in her job on the UK X Factor (along with Simon Cowell) to make it in the States. Apparently producers want her back on the UK show, but Cheryl isn’t too happy about getting the boot.
