Branded! Russell Brand sets up his own production company

With one or two hit movies under his belt (Get Him to the Greek, Arthur and HOP) Russell Brand has decided it’s about time he had his own production company.

Mr Perry, or Russell Brand as he’s better known, is obviously very happy living state side and has launched his own film production company, based in Hollywood.

Branded Films, which will primarily work on developing films for Brand to star in, will be run from the Warner Bros studios in Burbank, California.

Ever the comedian Russell joked to entertainment website Deadline it would “particularly welcome ideas that could feature a long-haired actor with an unintelligible accent”. So would we Russell, so would we!

“We at the newly founded Branded Films are very excited to announce our new company and the opportunity for puns that it affords us,” the star said in a statement. He continued “in that water tower in which some of the Looney Tunes also live”.

He’s not the first actor to make a producing deal with Warner Bros and will be following in the footsteps of Robert Downey Jr, Zac Efron, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

Brand’s next project is due for release next year and is a film version of Broadway musical Rock of Ages.
