Matt Willis joins West End show Wicked

Fantastic news!! Matt Willis has confirmed he is joining the cast of West End musical Wicked!!

We have to say, we’re rather excited!

Matt Willis has confirmed he is set to join the cast of West End show Wicked. Matt will be replacing Mark Evans as male lead Fiyero in the hit show.

The star took to Twitter to confirm the great news “Hey guys! I am so stoked to be joining the cast of “Wicked” as Fiyero! Can’t wait to get to work! proper exciting stuff man!”

Among the first to congratulate Matt was good friend Tom Fletcher who said “Awesome! @mattjwillis DUDE!!! You’re gonna be in my favourite ever musical….Jealous!!!! Amazing news. Cant wait!”

WICKED tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West. The show has now played over 2000 performances and celebrates five years in the West End on 27 September 2011.

Of course Matt is no stranger to the stage. The star received rave reviews for his performances in Flashdance, as Nick and Footloose, as Chuck last year.
