One Direction won’t be turning us on this Christmas
Sadly girls it looks as if One Direction won’t be turning on any Christmas lights near you this year due to security fears.
The group, whose single What Makes You Beautiful is currently at number one, have received tons of requests to turn on the Christmas cheer, lights (and many fans!) in cities up and down the UK. Sadly, they have turned them all down due to safety fears.
A source told The Sun: “Every city wants One Direction to turn on their Christmas lights. It’s a family-orientated occasion so the boyband fit the bill perfectly. But due to the sheer volume of fans who make their way to these events, security costs would be sky high.”
The boys have received overwhelming support from their fans and are clearly loving every minute of it. Sadly, such support can often cause a security concerns. Recently it was reported that Harry, Zayn, Liam, Niall and Louis had to move their Radio 1 Chart Show interview to a secret location due to the vast number of #1DFamily that had turned up outside the station’s studio hoping to catch a glimpse of the boys.
The band have always tried to make time to see their devoted fans and took to Twitter to apologise. Zayn posted: “Just heard guys were not coming down now sorry for everyone that’s waited outside xx”
