Steve Martin says The Big Year was a prank free zone

It doesn’t sound like Steve Martin is a big fan of pranks…

… which is probably the reason that the set of his latest movie, The Big Year – which also stars Jack Black and Owen Wilson, was a prank free zone.

“It wasn’t really a prank filled set,” he says.

“When I hear ‘prank filled set,’ I think, I’m so glad I’m not on that movie! You know what we should have done. We should have hired a writer to come up with pranks that we could have said we played! To me it’s nose to the grindstone.

“You know, to get the work done. I’m not a prankster. But on April Fools Day, I go around and change people’s calendars. To April second!”
