2011 was a busy one for Olly Murs
2011 was a busy year for Olly Murs.
The singer, presenter and all-round good guy was rushed off his feet last year. Not only has Olly worked hard gigging and releasing new music, he also spent months co-hosting the X Factor spin-off show, the Xtra Factor.
“The last 12 months have been a period of progression – but busy. I’ve worked hard,” Olly said in The Daily Star this week. “It’s been the toughest year of my life, but in a positive way.
“I know that it’s very difficult to stay fresh and for people to still like you so it’s matured me this year.”
So will the lovely Mr Murs be chilling out a bit in 2012? Not yet he won’t. Olly’s first arena tour kicks off in February.
“It’s a massive step for me,” he explained. “The one thing I’m really keen to show people is, ‘Yes I’m from The X Factor but I’m not the typical contestant you’ve had in the past eight years.”
We had a chat with Olly at Leeds Party In The Park over the summer and shot a closer-than-the-front-row video of him performing Thinking Of Me.
