Video: a1’s Mark Read pays tribute to HMV

The future of high-street music store HMV is uncertain. The music industry will be not coming to its rescue, with the big labels like Universal, Sony and Warner ruling out buying the chain, but Game have revealed they are one of 50 potential buyers for the 91-year old chain, which operates 247 stores globally.

Whatever happens, we will always remember HMV and Mark Read is no exception.

The handsome a1 singer penned a cheeky parody while watching the news about HMV going into administration, all to the tune of Sir Elton John’s Candle in the Wind.

Musically awesome, with clever and cheeky lyrics, we think Mark hits the nail on the head with this one.
