Photos: Blue prove they’ve still got it at Party in the Park, Leeds
The Big Reunion stuff is a delightful nostalgia trip, but as nice as it is to see our old favourites back together again, most of the time we can’t help but wish they hadn’t bothered. They just can’t recreate the magic they used to have – the vocals are too much, the dance routines are too strenuous – and it makes us sad… but not Blue.
Twelve years after releasing their first single, All Rise, Blue are back and they’re as brilliant as ever. With many tweeting that Duncan James, Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan and Antony Costa stole the show at Party in the Park, Leeds, we would be inclined to agree with them.
The guys all looked super handsome, super buff, and were as friendly as ever. That cheeky charm from twelve years ago was in no way in short supply.
They kicked of with All Rise and even played new material… sometimes a risky move, but the crowd at PITP clearly loved it – at some point someone threw their bra at them, which is the best kind of feedback a boyband can hope for.
“Just got off a wet stage in Leeds for party in the park. The 70k strong audience were amazing. “Sing for me” went down SOOO good! Loved it,” Duncan tweeted.
Simon echoed the sentiment, tweeting: “It went off when we performed Sing For Me it was like a mosh pit! Loved every second thank you @radioaire”
Lee was also delighted with the feedback they received. “Pitp in Leeds rocked!!! Crowd went crazy for “sing for me” such a tune! Can’t wait for the tour! Come see us! Thanks for a great gig!” he tweeted.
“Thanks to @radioaire for today!!!! Crowd were awesome,” Antony tweeted.
