T in the Park 2014: King Tut’s Tent Top 5
King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow is renowned for being one of the best live music venues in the UK and has been at the forefront of the Scottish live music scene since it first opened in 1990. The small venue, which has a capacity of only 300, has helped launch the careers of some of the biggest names in the music industry including Oasis, The Killers, Biffy Clyro, Paolo Nutini and Snow Patrol. It seems only fitting, then, that there is a tent dedicated to the legendary venue at T in the Park, Scotland’s largest music festival. We took a look at this year’s line-up and narrowed down our ‘Top 5’ 2014 King Tut’s Tent performers…
George Ezra
George Ezra is the emerging act that we’re most looking forward to seeing at T in the Park this weekend. The British singer-songwriter has a deep, bluesy tone to his voice which is showcased perfectly on his most recent single, Budapest. We’re expecting big things from George so make sure you catch him in this intimate setting whilst you still can.
Pixies
Pixies are set to headline the King Tut’s Tent on Friday night and we can’t wait to see what the American alt-rockers have in store for us. The band will hopefully treat the audience to a trip down memory lane with performances of classic hits such as Here Comes Your Man as well as tracks from their latest album, Indie Cindy.
Nina Nesbitt
Edinburgh’s Nina Nesbitt has been making quite a name for herself in Scotland lately. The teenage singer-songwriter, who has toured extensively with her close friend Ed Sheeran (he’s performing on the main stage on Friday), is likely to perform a beautiful acoustic set to a packed crowd in the tent on Saturday.
Franz Ferdinand
Get your indie fix by going to see Franz Ferdinand perform in the King Tut’s Tent on Sunday. The Scottish indie-rockers are likely to pull in a large crowd so get there early if you want to guarantee a good spot!
Chvrches
Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda might have dismissed them for making ‘Disney commercial music’ but we’re really looking forward to seeing Scottish band Chvches take to the stage on Friday. The electronic three-piece are regulars on the music festival circuit so we can’t wait to see them perform at their home festival.
