Lea Michele wants Fanny Brice role?

A report has claimed that Lea Michele is desperate for the role of Fanny Brice.

The Glee actress is apparently quite keen on landing the role in the Broadway remake of Funny Girl – the role was made famous by Barbra Streisand.

“She’s telling anyone who will listen how badly she wants the role of Fanny Brice,” a source told Page Six.

Lea previously revealed that her parents didn’t know just how talented she was when she was younger.

“Did my parents see my star potential? No, they didn’t even know I could sing!” she said.

“I remember asking my mom if she wanted to hear me sing and she was busy, and then my dad pulled me aside, knelt down in front of me and said, ‘Listen, you’re really funny and a great dancer, but you can’t sing.’ I will never let him live that down.”
