The One Direction member didn’t believe that fans actually posted their knickers to thier idols – until it happened to him.

“You hear stories that celebrities get sent gifts in the post, like knickers and stuff, and you don’t believe it,” the 17-year-old said.

“Then, when you actually become famous you see it first hand.

“But you have to take it as a compliment, it is kind that people care enough to do so.”

And do you know what, he doesn’t sound offended.

“I love a bit of cheek,” he told the People, “that’s what I like.”
