Jade Goody passes away

At around 3am this morning, Jade Goody passed away in her sleep surrounded by her husband Jack Tweed, Mother Jackiey Budden and close friend Kevin Adams were all there.

As soon as the news broke this morning, mourners were already arriving at the home to pay their tributes.

Referring to how her public battle with cancer has raised awareness of the disease, Max Clifford said: “I think she’s going to be remembered as a young girl who has, and who will, save an awful lot of lives.”

Mr Clifford said that the funeral service would be held at Goody’s local church, St John the Baptist in Buckhurst. He said that she had wanted to be buried in the church cemetery, but it is full and so plans are still being made for a burial site. No date has yet been set for the funeral but it is likely to take place in the next 10 days.

Although she’s been having radiotherapy and chemotherapy, she found out in February that the cancer had spread to other organs and warned she had only a short time to live. This then propelled her to try to secure the financial future of her two young sons, Bobby, five, and Freddie, four, through a many media deals thought to be worth £1m.

Thankfully though, her making others aware of this has helped others. Since Jade Goody’s story came to light last year, many young woman have been hassling their doctors for smear tests. The age for tests is now going to be lowered again.

We’re terribly sad here at Flecking, but we’re so proud of her for being brave for herself and everyone around her. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends. At least she will not be suffering now.
