Review: Bowling for Soup Presents One Big Happy
Just in case we weren’t suitably excited about Bowling For Soup bringing their brand of timeless pop-rock to our shores, their One Big Happy album has sealed the deal.
Ahead of their tour with Patent Pending and The Dollyrots, the three bands have got together to record a collection of songs – new and covers of each other – resulting in ten cracking tracks and about half an hour of awesome music.
The album starts as it means to go on, with UK friendly track Let’s Go To The Pub by legends Bowling For Soup. It’s fun, it’s catchy and we can’t wait to see/hear them perform it on stage throughout the tour.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Bowling For Soup are my absolute favourite band to see live. After so many years together, the energy the put into their shows and their enthusiasm for their old tracks never fails to blow me away.
Other favourite tracks of ours include My Heart Explodes, Psycho In Love and the fantastic Love Ya, Love Ya, Love Ya.
We love the bands, we love the songs and we think it’s brilliant that they have all worked together on an album before hitting the stage together. As the title suggests, when you go to a Bowling For Soup show you really do feel like you’re watching one big happy family together on stage.
