Photos: The show goes on for Lucy Spraggan at Party in the Park, Leeds
When Lucy Spraggan walked out on stage at Party in the Park, Leeds, she seemed ecstatic to be about to perform in front of the biggest crowd of her career – approximately 70,000 – so it was a shame luck wasn’t on her side.
First poor Lucy revealed she had a sore throat and then, when she went to start her set, the backing track wasn’t working. It’s no surprise Lucy didn’t look a happy lady when she walked off stage, but that’s understandable.
Ever the professional, Lucy played her set acoustically. It was just her and her guitar on stage in front of all those people, but she had the crowd eating out the palm of her hand – particularly when she played Last Night, everyone was singing along.
Lucy also played her latest single, Lighthouse.
“V bad throat today, got 40 mins to man up before I play at #PITP to the biggest crowd I’ve ever played in front of! It’s gonna be amazing!” Lucy tweeted before the event.
She seemed happy with her performance, because afterwards she tweeted: “After a rather large technical problem we got it going on at #PITP! Thank you everyone, you are amazing!! #Iwantedtodoitacousticanyway ;)”
