SM:TV and CD:UK to return… BUT…
There’s always a but. Apparently legendary Saturday morning TV shows SM:TV and CD:UK are set to return.
We’ve missed the shows, in fact Saturday mornings haven’t been the same since, so we were excited to hear that they might be making a comeback, (here’s that but we were telling you about) but with John and Edward Grimes as hosts.
According to the News of the World, ITV executives are hoping to revive the Saturday morning shows with the X Factor twins acting as presenters.
“CD:UK was a winning format,” a source said. “It was taken around the world and bosses at ITV always intended to bring it back. It’s taken a bit longer than expected but the ball is really rolling now. There’s plenty of buzz about it coming back.”
The show started in 1998 and was at it’s best in the early days with hosts Ant & Dec and Cat Deeley.
Other celebs who are said to be competition for the job are Abbey Clancy, Stephen Mulhern and George Lamb.
Now you’re talking, we wouldn’t mind waking up to George Lamb every Saturday (or Sky+’ing him, ’cause we don’t get up that early on a Saturday any more…).
