Walkers recruits Celebrities to front new ‘national flavour’ adverts
You will have all heard of the new (and frankly bizarre) range of crisps Walkers have released for the World Cup and now they have got a group of famous faces on board to each promote a particular flavour in the new advert campaign, which will be broadcast for the first time tomorrow.
Regular ambassador Gary Lineker will appear in each of the ads, alongside the celebrity chosen to wear the national clothing of the country they are asked to promote.
TV presenter Melinda Messenger and actor Will Mellor are dressed as French maids to support the garlic bread flavour and magician Paul Daniels dresses as a martial arts fighter to promote the Japanese Terikyaki chicken flavour crisps.
Ian Ellington, Walkers general manager, said that they have “really pushed the boundaries by coming up with a massive 15 new flavours at once.”
With other flavours in the range including American cheeseburger, Dutch Edam Cheese, Australian BBQ Kangaroo, English Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding and Scottish Haggis, who knows what the full campaign will involve.
