Kim Cattrall thinks SATC 2 is ‘f*cking fabulous’

Kim Cattrall thinks ‘Sex and the City 2’ is “f**king fabulous”.

The actress – who plays man-eating businesswoman Samantha Jones in the film franchise – was blown away by the script the first time she read the storyline, and even sent the director a foul-mouthed text message to show off her delight.

She said: “I read the script and I sent director Michael Patrick King a text. I used two words that began with ‘F’ and the second was ‘fabulous’. I said to him, ‘You’ve done it. You’ve really taken what was so fabulous about the series and what we needed to do in the first movie – which was to set everything up again – and brought something so fresh and new to ‘Sex and the City 2’. I think what we’ve gone back to is just seeing the girls.”

The 53-year-old actress is joined in the show by Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon – who play a group of friends living in New York City.

Kim believes the upcoming sequel to the 2008 box office hit will lift the spirits of those who need to “have some fun”.

She explained: “It’s a fish out of water, it’s a road picture, it’s fun. And we need to have some fun right now, you know things are rough out there for so many people. This is a joyous movie about women having a fantastic time. Also dealing with life issues but also having a lot of fun. I read it and I went, ‘Phew. It’s really good and funny.’ “
