Kate Winslet hit with basketball

Poor Kate Winslet has had to take a little time off from filming her new TV show after being hit with a basketball.

Sources say that Kate, who was playing near her New York home with her two children Mia and Joe, was hit quite hard and left with a titanic bruise.

Filming of her new mini-series Mildred Pierce was put on hold on Monday, the day after her accident, so she could recover and the bruise go down enough to be covered by make-up.

The source said “She fell after being hit by a basketball and suffered bruising that couldn’t be covered with make-up, so the entire production was halted on Monday.”

Sounds painful, we can confirm that a  spokesperson for Kate confirmed the accident but stressed: “She is fine.”
